Paradise Valley-based BedBrock Developers is building the very first home in Arizona designed by a prestigious South African firm — valued at more than $50 million.
Cape Town-based SAOTA — known globally for its award-winning architectural creations — was tapped to design the 17,000-square-foot home in Paradise Valley.
In fact, the home is a finalist for the 2022 World Architecture Festival; the winners will be named in Lisbon later this year.
"SAOTA is one of the top architects in the world. Their designs are unusual," said Rich Brock, founder of Paradise Valley-based BedBrock Developers. "Most of their homes in the U.S. are in Beverly Hills, Miami, New York and the Hamptons. This will be their first project in Arizona."
Stratton Andrews, principal architect for BedBrock Developers, will serve as local architect for the project. Mara Interior design is the interior designer, Berghoff Design is the landscaping firm and Walter Spitz is in charge of creative lighting designs.
The home will feature a 68-foot cantilevered glass bottom infinity pool, seven-car display garage, walk-in wine cellar, four custom bars, a grand stargazing rooftop, as well as a floor-to-ceiling open glass yoga/wellness/spa room angled toward the iconic Praying Monk rock formation nearby.
Plans call for breaking ground on the 3-acre property within the next year.
