The Menlo Park, California-based company announced in August that it planned to hire “hundreds” in Tempe and Southlake, Texas. At the time, the company said it was working to establish an in-person location for Tempe staff, but employees were working from home because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Multiple sources with knowledge of the deal said Robinhood is leasing the entire 12th floor of the Watermark, a high-profile office building on the north side of Tempe Town Lake. The Watermark was also the landing spot for Align Technology, the maker of Invisalign and other dental equipment, which is moving its headquarters to Tempe from San Jose. Align is bringing 150 jobs to Tempe.
Coworking giant WeWork also has a location in the building.
Representatives from Robinhood did not immediately return a request for comment. Representatives from the building owner, Fenix Development, also declined to comment.
