Between the two projects, Glendale approved annexing about 337 acres into the city limits for a total of 4.25 million square feet of planned industrial space.
The approved annexations are just two of many the city is working on to increase employment grow along and near the Loop 303 corridor and Luke Air Force Base.
The projects that received approval include Organics Loop 303 and Parkway 303 West.
Organics Loop 303 calls for two buildings totaling 850,000 square feet on 75 acres on the southwest corner of Bethany Home Road and Sarival Avenue, just east of the Loop 303.
The buildings will be comprised of two midsized warehouse or manufacturing spaces with associated office on the corners of the building.
The other proposed project that received rezoning and annexation approval was Parkway 303 West, a 3.4 million-square-foot project that could include six buildings on 262 acres on the southeast corner of Cotton Lane and Peoria Avenue fronting the Loop 303.
The site sits just south of Surprise city limits and could also have 65,850 square feet of commercial development along Peoria Avenue and a 20-acre Arizona Public Service substation, according to city planning documents.
