Phoenix-based developer Merit Partners is beginning construction on a 750,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution center for Gatorade in Tolleson, which will more than double the company’s presence in the area.
The project is part of the Tolleson Corporate Park near 75th Avenue and Buckeye Road. In total, the park will consist of 2.4 million square feet in five buildings once the Gatorade warehouse is complete. The project is expected to be completed in October.
“Tolleson Corporate Park enables growing communities such as Tolleson to offer its residents the opportunity to work close to home, and avoid long commutes,” Kevin Czerwinski, CEO and Principal of Merit Partners, said in a statement. “The clients locating within this project, such as Gatorade, are indicative of job creating companies that continue to discover our great state and the West Valley.”
A new rail spur was added to service the Georgia Pacific Corrugated facility within the Tolleson Corporate Park, creating direct access to the Union Pacific rail line.
Georgia Pacific Corrugated, a manufacturer of corrugated boxes and packaging is located in the park, along with MiTek, a supplier of products for the construction industry.
Merit Partners has been the developer for several facilities serving the food and beverage industry in the West Valley. They are also the developer of the White Claw facility and the Red Bull filling facility, which are both in Glendale.
